Position: Projects Lead / PM (LAMP)
Job Description:
• Lead a growing team of backend PHP developers, operationally, strategically and with a full view of the software development lifecycle
• Have a very hands on managerial role, including line management of the team, disciplinary actions, recruitment, performance review and goal setting
• Be responsible for the overall planning and delivery of this mission critical project, including budgeting, creating realistic timelines, client liaison and implementation
• Work as a Scrum Master for development initiatives and continue to evangelise Agile processes and Continuous Integration within the company
• Have a strong understanding and oversight of the whole software architecture and build
• Occasionally, and if appropriate get involved with some coding/?scripting responsibilities
Skills Required:
• Strong commercial track record of planning and delivering software development projects
• Excellent experience of leading a team including; mentoring, code reviews, training/development; technical leadership
• Strong knowledge of project management strategies including, Prince II, Agile, Scrum and Test Driven Development (formal qualifications highly desirable)
• Advanced technical understanding of the software development lifecycle, including an in depth knowledge of various web technologies (especially PHP / LAMP)
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Any further technical knowledge and hands-on experience of the following would be highly beneficial: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MVC Frameworks (Zend, Symfony, CAKE, , CodeIgniter), CMS (Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, Magento), MySQL, Apache
• Understanding of testing procedures and unit testing Have a passion for technology and for leadership
